Diet Pepsi Taste Challenge
The Home Version
An innovative extension of the ubiquitous Diet Pepsi Taste Challenge. The Home Version came in a box which contained everything needed to conduct a taste challenge: a can of Diet Pepsi and a can of Diet Coke, tasting cups, sleeves to hide the cans, and a brochure (shown here) which doubled as a game board and instruction manual. Boxes were sent to 100,000 unsuspecting Canadians who were asked to report their results on the Diet Pepsi website, or by mail.
This campaign won an RSVP Award, a Finalist Certificate from the prestigious Caples Awards and a BBDO Eureka Award for Great Integration Idea. It was also the first time that a company had sent out 100,000 units of a competitor’s product!
